Abdominal Pain, 6th Day After Taking Marvelon Pill. Advice?
Hi. Last Sunday, after my 7 day break of Marvelon (period) I started taking the pill again. Yesterday I was sick 3 hours after taking the pill. My partner an I had sex and he ejaculated inside me, twice. Since it was my 6th day taking the pill after the 7 days break and I had been sick that evening, I am quite worried. I have had abdominal pain all day but don't know if it's psychosomatic. Thank you very much before hand for your advice.
Hi, Your symptoms point to some gastric upset and there is no need to bother about chances of conception as you are safe and well protected. Ovulation is a mid-cycle phenomenon and is not observed while you are on the pill. Please wait for your next cycle and go for a pregnancy test 3-7 days later if you miss it; and this is chance happening only. Please relax and contact your consultant if you need further help. Hope your query is clarified. Take care.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Sometimes contraceptive pills can lead to side effects. Abdominal pain is one of them. But these side effects will subside soon. If the pain persists once consult gynecologist and get examined to rule out factors like pelvic infection. As you are taking the pills regularly there is less possibility for pregnancy. Usually symptomatic treatment is sufficient. Take care.
