Abnormal, Involuntary Mouth Movement Like Constant Chewing, Tremors, Trouble Sleeping, Nausea, Sudden Projectile Vomiting. On Pristiq. Side Effects?

Hello, my husband has been taking Pristiq for 6 months. He has started having some abnormal mouth movements similar to constant chewing or sucking action, but nothing is in his mouth. He is totally unaware that this is happening. He is also having a lot of tremors, trouble sleeping, unexplained nausea, and unexplained sudden projectile vomiting. Could all of this be from the Pristiq? I am especially concerned about his mouth movements because they are constant and he has no idea that this is happening! I would appreciate any enlightenment you can give me. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Pristiq is an anti depressant drug containing desvenlafaxine.
This is venlafaxine group having following side effects as,
nausea vomiting , dry mouth, constipation, TREMORS, dizziness, anxiety, fatigue, headache , involuntary movements .
All these side effects are due to dexvenlafaxine , as your husband is taking this drug.
Consult your treating physician/ psychiatrist and get his opinion regarding this .
Good luck for your husband.
