I was due to get my periodon the 16 th of September and it came on the 18th. Lasted 3 days instead of the normal five, mild bleeding. A week later i started spotting which led to heavy bleeding. what s goin on? And yes i had sex all throughout this situation except the days that i was on unprotected but due to the heavy bleeding i don t think its pregnancy
Hi, Thanks for the query. According to your history, the possible causes for your problem are : - Unprotected intercourse leading to pregnancy and possibility of miscarriage. -Hormonal imbalance leading to intermenstrual spotting. - Structural causes like cervical polyps or fibroids leading to bleeding. - Post coital tear. As you are having heavy bleeding, better to consult gynecologist once and get evaluated. Ultrasound helps in ruling out the possibility of pregnancy and also endometrial abnormalities like polyps, fibroids etc. If no abnormality is detected in ultrasound, the cause could be possibility hormonal. Taking anti fibrinolytic drugs and hormonal pills with your doctor's advice may cure the problem. Take care.
