Accident Has Caused Shin Hit. MRI Report Shows Periostitis. Unable To Put Weight On Leg. Treatment?
18 months ago, tI was in car accident. Shin hit console or dash of car. Diagnosed with hematoma & contusion. X-ray showed no fracture. Ten months later, I wasn't healing so MRI performed. Showed periostitis & Dr. said it would heal and sent me to physical therapy which may have helped a little. Now, shin still bruised, tender and I'm unable to get on floor and put sitting weight on it. Advice?
Hi welcome to Health care magic forum. Thanks for calling H.C.M.Forum. You had a hit on the shin 18 months ago. diagnosed with hematoma and contusion, no fracture, ten months latter as there is no healing M.R.I.done periostitis seen, doctor sent for physiotherrapy. still bruice is there and paining. It appears that the infection is more resistant. I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. You may have to get the culture and sensitivity of the discharge from the wond for confirmation of the bacteria present and its sensitivity to the drugs. wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Best regards.
