Accidental Insertion Of Rectal Suppository To Vagina. Mild Stomach Pressure. Had Pelvic Prolapse Surgery. Need To Get Checked?
I accidently inserted a prescription Canasa rectal suppository into my vagina 2 nights ago. I am experiencing very mild stomach pressure. I am a very young & fit 70 and have had a successful pelvic prolapse surgery with mesh lining in 2009. Should I call my internal medicine doctor who issued the Canasa or/and my Gynocologist? My symptons of rectal bleeding and mucus have now stopped. I am also taking 2 Lialda tablets together each day.. Should I stop the Canasa until I see the doctor?.

Accidental Insertion Of Rectal Suppository To Vagina. Mild Stomach Pressure. Had Pelvic Prolapse Surgery. Need To Get Checked?
Thanks for posting your query. The vaginal lining can also absorb medicines like rectal lining and in a sense more sturdy than the rectal lining. So do not worry yourself about inserting the suppository in your vagina. It s unlikelt to cause any problems with your mesh. Your rectal symptoms have now become better. So just continue follow up as advised by your physician ( Internal Medicine). You should also have regular follow up with gynecologist as advised. Do not stop medications without consulting your physician. Hope this help, All the best, take care.
