Accurate BP Readings
Are blood pressure readings affected by wearing a sweatshirt under the inflatable blood pressure cuff? The reason I am asking is because the last time I went to see a doctor , the nurse/assistant took the blood pressure reading while I was wearing a sweatshirt. He said my blood pressure is low.

The nurse should have asked you to remove the sweatshirt. The person who said nurses don't do things that make people uncomfortable is clearly not a nurse. It is a nurse's job to monitor your health and if we can do it w/o hurting you or making you uncomfortable, then we will. But it is our responsibility to do best practice.
Did he/she use an automatic machine or did they pump the cuff up themselves?
