Ache, Lumpiness And Puffiness Near Shoulder, Concerned About Cancer
Ok. I feel silly asking but my left armpit feels a little achy and if you follow around the arm up the front to the top of my breast (near the shoulder ) that area is a little achy and feels just lumpy and puffy. I should also tell that I pick up my 21 month old granddaughter and primarily carry her using the same arm (left side). The pain isn t severe or anything; mostly annoying and now that I m thinking about it (and concerned of cancer of course) I m much more aware of it. I ve had it for several weeks. What do you think?
Although by the looks of it your problem does not look serious, you should get yourself examined by a doctor. They will carry out what is typically known as a triple assessment (mandatory in all cases of breast complaints). This includes a thorough clinical examination, an imaging test (mammogram/ ultrasound - to pick up small lesions which might not be palpable) and if they find any suspicious lesion, then they will do an FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology - draw some cells from the lesion and examine them).
The first step would still be to get yourself examined by a doctor.

The ache which you must be a muscular pain due to sprain or strain. Must get settled with shoulder rest, physiotherapy and analgesics. Since you already have a 21 month old grand daughter it is time for you to have a mammogram and ultra sound done to screen for any cancer in breast in both sides. All the best.
