Aching Across Shoulder Blades, Goes To Neck, Start Sweating And Feel Faint, Blood Work Normal.
I have been getting at times aching across my shoulder blades which then goes into my neck and I start sweating and feel faint. I am not a three meal a day eater so I would immediately drink a glass of orange juice and relax and it would go away. I am a smoker and a heavy coffee drinker. I thought it was that my sugar level was low but recently I had a blood work up done and my glucose test came back ok. My doctor sent me for echo cardiogram and now I am being referred to a cardiologist for evaluation. Email- YYYY@YYYY Thank you.
Hi, Shoulder pain radiating to your arms must be investigated for cardiac cause and once it is normal, other causes must be evaluated. You need to get an ECG and echocardiography done immediately under guidance of a cardiologist. Cardiac chest pain generally increases on movement. If cardiac evaluation is normal, the next suspicion is of a gastric pain. You need to be checked for acid reflux disease.
Rarely the pain can be due to sitting in wrong posture and involving muscle groups. This will resolve on application of muscle relaxants and pain killers.
Hope this helps
