Acidity and gas can often cause chest pain and discomfort which may even resemble a heart attack. In my opinion, you will need both life style modification and medications. Regular exercise and avoiding heavy and oily food will make a huge difference. In addition, you will need a course of medicines like H2 blockers (ranitidine, famotidine etc) or proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, pantoprazole etc) along with over the counter antacids to control the acidity and gas production. If you are overweight, you will find that losing weight also makes a difference.
Hope this is of help. Best wishes.
