My mother aged 79 years was admitted into the hospital for chest congestion and fever but later developed pneumonia. They had all sorts of test H1N1, antigen test HBsAG, RETRO Virus I and II which all proved negative. She was in hospital was a week and is now home a week back. Now is fit moving about but her CBC report shows her hemoglobin level 7.5 gm/dl packed cell volume 23,2 RBC 2.27 mill, Lymphocytes 81% and platelet count was low as 0000/cu.m.m but now its 0000 cu.m.m. but the PS opinion says RBCs show milld anisopokilocytes with many microcytes + Tear drop cell +. Ovalocytes + mild hypochromia WBC : dEPLEATED; PLATLETS DEPLIATED PARASITES- NOT SEEN...
I am much worried abt my mum health. Kindly let me know what is to be done
A s there is depletion of all cell lines like rbc and platelets and the reports are negative for common thing it can be a denguefever. its a common cause od platelets depletion and also causes congestion in the chest and fever
