Advised D&C After Pelvic And Vaginal Ultrasound Due To Thickening Of Lining. Why Given An Appointment With Oncologist?

I have been told i am to have a D & C after having a pelvic ultrasound and vagianal ultrasound apparantly i have thickening of the lining, this was explained to me by my GP. My ? is i have been given an appt to see an Oncologist this was not mentioned i thought it would be Gynecology???

I can very well understand the anxiety you must be going through when you were reffered to an oncologist.
You are right. First you should be seeing a OBGYN and she would be the right person to decide if you really need a D & C depending upon your age ,menstrual history ,gynaec complaints and scan reports.so do consult a obgyn before u c an oncologist.
