After Being Bit By A Dog Noticed A Hard Lump Under The Skin Of The Thigh
I was bit by a pit bull on the upper thigh about 3 weeks ago. The bruising and swelling, along with the pain has gone away but I am left with a very hard bump under the skin. It is fairly large. It hurts slightly around the bump and itches. What is this and how should it be treated?

The hard lump under the scar could be a HYPERTROPHIC SCAR/ KELOID/GRANULOMA. This can appear following an injury to the skin and any injury heals with inflammation and scarring.
Most hypertrophic scars may undergo partial spontaneous resolution, but it might take a couple of months.
Localised induration of the underlying structure can occur as a result of inflammation. This can also cause similar hard lump.
See a surgeon if problem persists.
