Can I stop taking Premarin 0.625 immediately or do I need to ween myself off slowly? I have been on it for several years non stop and suspect it may be causing side effects. I am 52 yrs old who had a hysterectomy in my 30's and have a piece of both overlies intact.

Hello madam, premarin is an oestrogen supplement...It is a hormone replacement therapy given to you as you had undergone surgical menopause at a very early age....yes, hormone replacement therapy can cause side effects when used for a prolonged period of time...As you are 52 years you can stop premarin, but ideally it is beneficial to meet your gynaecologist before you stop the treatment...i also recommend you to take calcium supplementation. .....hope i was helpful to you. ...
