Aged Mother Had A Fall Backwards On The Steps. Did CAT Scan Shows No Fractures. Now Having Intense Diarrhea, Vomiting. Recommendations
My 69 years old mother had a serious fall off our churches second step and fell backwards onto the concrete. We took my mother to the ER and the ER doctor asked for a cat scan for head and pelvis. The scan came back no fractures. My mother is currently having intense diarrhea and bouts of vomiting. What would you recommend we look into further if anything?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi Thanks for using HCM. Intense diarrhea and bouts of vomiting. Vomiting may be due to raised intra cranial tension after fall. But diarrhoea usually wont occur. So both diarrhoea and vomiting suggests GI infection also.
What would you recommend we look into further if anything? Look for complete hemogram, stool microscopy, retinoscope. If her higher mental functions and motor functions are normal then these are enough. Hope I answered all your queries. Wish you good health.
Regards Dr.Lohit
