Allergic Grains On Face, Hands Due To Sun Exposure. Is Aqua-gel Better Than Lotion?
I got allergic grains all over my face and hands due to a cream as well as further sun exposer. My doctor prescribed lecope-M, 1 tablet before food evening for 15 days and photoban-30 aquagel. I was not able to get photoban-30 aquagel however got photoban-30 lotion. Is this medication helpful? Is aquagel better than lotion or is there any difference?
Hi Priyadarshini,
You seem to be having either polymorphous light eruptions(allergy due to sun) or irritant contact dermatitis(allergy due to cream application). First of all cut your sun exposure to minimum and stop application of the culprit cream completely. Continue lecope m, it will take care of itching. Also apply a mild steroidal cream twice in a day(fluticasone or mometasone) for 5 to 6 days. You should continue using the sunscreen prescribed by your doctor. photoban aquagel and photoban lotion are equally effective. Gels are better for oily skin while lotions for normal to dry skin. Depending on your skin texture doctor must have prescribed the better one. Remember, always go by the doctor's advise as whatever they prescribe is in best of your interests. Take care
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Lecope-M is antihistaminic which will take care of your allergic skin reaction due to sun exposure.
You can use photoban-30 lotion. Both are equally effective. But if your skin is oily than you should prefer using gel preparation. Avoid exposure to sun without sunscreen, that will aggrevate your problem.
Take care.
