Allergy (swelled Up Spots) Around The Anus Of 1.5 Yr Old From Diapers Resolved By Execare Antibiotic.
My son is 1 yr 6 months old. In the evening we noticed a very mild reddishness on bums when putting on the diaper before going out. We came back and took off the diaper and the situation was same. However when he was about to go to sleep with the night diaper on he suddenly started crying out loud. We found his diaper soiled. When we washed his bums we could see severe allergy (small swelled up areas) around anus. We applied flutibact which seems to be a wrong choice now. There is mild improvement over last hour. Kid has dozed off. Should we apply execare 0.05 now as we would see doctor only tomorrow morning. Or just wait till doctor sees it. Edit: Execare solved it. Don t apply Flutibact in case you think that there is an bacterial infection [this is what I suspected] - as Flutibact also has a steroid that would otherwise possibly make the situation worst. Only anti biotic should be used when bacterial infection is suspected. In this case Execare resolved the symptoms in under an hour and finally closed the issue. Followed up twice with Execare the next day - and kept the diaper on for minimal time. Execare has proved to be pretty safe over last couple of years in various allergies to my kids.
The history of allergies among your children, make the possibility of an allergic reaction more likely. Other possible causes of the rash include fungal candida infection, bacterial infections caused by a variety of bacteria such as strep or staph. Changing the diaper frequently, avoiding any irritating lotions or wipes, washing the area with white dove soap may help the irritation. I would advise seeing your physician to determine the cause and to consider allergy testing in your son which can be completed by skin tests or a blood test when he is two years old. A careful history of environmental triggers of an allergic skin rash helps to identify agents to avoid.
