Am I Suffering From Lichen Sclerosus?

In childhood I got hurt on my vagina. Since then (10 yrs) my vagina is pink and white in colour on labia. Sometimes the area is very itchy, sometimes its ok. The area is same since childhood its not increasing in size. My anal area was not infected all this long. However, now it has started itching too. Am I suffering from lichen sclerosis?

Hi,

Yes, it seems that you are suffering from lichen sclerosus. It may due to trauma in your case. Other causes may be infection, immune disorder and genetic. Treatment consists of local steroid application for relieving itching and other complications. It occurs mostly in girls and common in genital area and anus. Mostly occurs in girls before start of menstruation or after menopause. These rarely disappear without treatment and sometimes may be life long.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
