I would like to know a good health specialist to go to for fibromalgia I have been having wide spread pain for several years, it affects my life more than anyone seems to believe me. my family doctor treats me with syavella, but it just does not seem to be helping that much. I live in a small town, where there is a problem with drug abuse, I feel like they look at everyone who has a pain problem, as a abuser. I would like to know if they are a cure for the problem, or if I have to live in pain for the rest of my life. My pain and stiffiness, and tiredness has taken over my life. thank you for any advise you can give me.
Hello. The appropriate specialist to treat fibromyalgia is the Rheumatologist. Besides the drug that you refer, there are other effective drugs as Duloxetine, Tramadol or Amitriptyline. Also practicing moderate physical exercise can improve your pain. With the mentioned drugs and the practice of physical exercise, you will feel better.Go to the Rheumatologist for examination and prescription. I wish you good health.
