Any Suggestion For Diabetic Having Knot In Back Of Head After Injury?
I FELL THIS MORNING IN THE SHOWER. I HIT MY BACK AND HEAD WITH THE FAUCET. THE FAUCET BENT ALL THE WAY DOWN. I JUST NOTICED A KNOT IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD AND FEEL A LITTLE DIZZY. I AM SORE FROM MY BACK. THE SKIN WAS NOT BROKEN, JUST A HUGE SCRATCH AND BRUISE. I AM DIABETIC. CAN CONSEQUENCES HAPPEN LATER?
There are criteria that are used to determine if imaging is needed with minor head injury , the criteria are called new orleans criteria and indicate that imaging is needed if one or more of the following is present: (1)headache (2)vomiting (3)seizures (4)memory loss (5)age over 60 (6)history of drug or alcohol use (7)visible injury above the clavicle
Since the trauma was severe enough to cause the faucet to bend backwards and you have at least 1 criterian, it would be best for you to be assessed by your doctor.
I hope this helps
