Hi, thanks for asking form HCM.
I can understand your concern. The dizziness after
head injury could persist for few days. It will subside on its own. The dizziness occurs due to pain and reaction at injury site. To relieve anxiety of dangerous head injury, you can observe few signs in your daughter for 72 hours
: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
: persistent headache not responding to painkillers
:
loss of consciousness or decreasing consciousness
: Dizziness not decreasing even after few days or increasing
: focal deficit
: seizures
If any of above sign, consult ER as soon as possible. The doctor will advise CT head to rule out any brain bleed. Further treatment will be decided after CT report.
If no above sign, you can wait at home and follow few tips to get her relief
: Rest
: avoid exertion
: You can give her beta-histidne or
Cinnarizine after proper prescription
: Maintain proper hydration
: Apply icepacks at injury site
: You can give her painkiller like
Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription.
Hope it will help you. Still no relief, you can
consult doctor.
Thanks. Take care.
