Any Suggestion For Having Calloused, Cracked And Bleeding Feet And Hands?

I have had heavy calloused feet, cracked and bleeding, and cracked and bleeding hands for almost a year. I have used about everything on the market and have had no marked results. I've also been taking 3 fish oil and 2 vitamin E pills a day for over 2 months. I have been to a dermatologist, podiatrist and internal medicine doc with no help. Any ideas?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

It could be a case of either Hyperkeratotic eczema/palmoplantar psoriasis or palmoplantar keratoderma.

I would advice that you use an intensive moisturizer twice daily or as often as possible to keep the area soft and pliable.

If i was your treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a salicylic acid based ointment to slough off the thick scaly and calloused skin of the palms and soles.

Sometimes if the skin is very hard and thick then the treating dermatologist might also plan to start you on oral retinoids.

take care
regards
