Any Suggestion For Itching/burning Sensation On Bottom Of Foot?
My right foot itches on the bottom in the center of the ball of the foot. It has done this for over 10 years and is always in the same spot. It doesn t itch all the time. And there is no pattern to when it does. The more I scratch it the more it itches. Most of the time when it does itch I scratch it til it is uncomfortable, like a burning sensation such as what you would get from friction...which is what is happening when I itch it as hard as I do...but that usually is the only way to get it to go away. There is NO surface skin irritation whatsoever, unless a hardening of the skin sometimes occurs when it has been bothering me a lot from scratching it. Any ideas? And how do you stop it. I have tried steroid creams but it definitly UNDER the surface that is the problem.
It may neuro dermatitis most probably. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. The cause may be stress, anxiety and mental upsets. I would recommend you to apply strong steroid cream and to take a course of oral steroid in tapering dose with antihistaminic like Cetirizine. Also take anxiolytics like fluoxetine 10 mg daily.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
