Any Suggestion For Kid Suffering From Sickness, Vomiting After Swallowed A Penny?
My son, who will be three in May, swallowed a penny on Wednesday evening. My husband and I have been checking his stools, and so far, have had no luck. Our son has shown no signs of distress at all until about an hour ago. We heard him crying in his crib, and he had gotten sick and vomited. I don't know is this is because of the penny, or maybe just a stomach bug???

YOU WILL BE SURPERISED TO KNOW THAT MOST OF ACCIDENTALLY INGESTED SMALL OBJECTS ARE EXPELLED GRADUALLY, PENNY BEING NO EXCEPTION. IT CAN GET STUCK AT TWO POINTS IN THE GUT ie. PYLORUS OR TERMINAL PART OF SMALL GUT WHERE IT JOINS LARGE GUT. BEST IS TO GIVE HIGH ROUGHAGE DIET AND GET SERIAL PLAIN X RAY OF ABDOMEN ALTERNATE DAYS TILL NO SHADOW OF COIN IS SEEN. NOT TO WORRY.
