Any Suggestion For Suffering From Occasional Cystitis?
my doctor has recommended vagifem after using a topical cream for some time - I am 64. I suffer very occasionally from Cystitis. However, after reading about the side effects ( especially hair loss ) I am very reluctant to use it. My hair is already thinning and I don t wish to increase this. Any advice?
Hi Post menopausal women are sometimes adviced to use oestrogen cream to decrease the incidence of urinary tract infections. It is to be only for a period of 6 weeks or less and it is unlikley to cause much side effects. But if you are worried about hair loss, then do not use it and try other methods like low dose antibiotics, taking cranberry capsules, applying yoghurt to the area around urethra etc.
