Any Suggestion For Tenderness, Irritation Radiating Behind Ear After Having Root Canal?

I had a root canal done on my upper left molar 2 years ago , I don t have pain but it is just always irritated , when I push on it it is tender , the irritation radiates behind my ear , when I push behind my ear I feel it right in that tooth , I visited my dentist twice , he took xray and said there might be a mild infection in my jawbone and prescribed an antibiotic and said it should clear up , its been a year since and it has never cleared up ,he doesn t know what it is or he doesn t believe me , any thoughts on this ?

Hello, Welcome Thanks for consulting HCM,

I have gone through your query, yes it can be due to mild infection there but after one year still you have pain then go for Re-Root canal treatment if it is periapical infection is there .

If you have periodontal problem there is pocket formation then you can go for Currettage of that tooth.

Do warm saline gargle two - three times a day.

Hope this will help you.

Wishing you good health.
