Any Suggestion Green/purple Color On Leg, Sore Shin And Painful Calf?

Hello Doctor, My husband was playing football at his school (Teaching Assistant) and just walked towards the ball and felt as if his calf popped and then piercing pain (this was 2 weeks ago) I took him to hospital and the nurse said he had split his muscle and to use crutches for 2 weeks. He then had to go to his doctor for a paper for work and the doctor said if he had any pain any where to go straight to A&E as it could be a blood clot! Today he seems to be limping more and when i asked him to look at his leg the colour has worsened to a greeny purplish colour, his shin is sore and the calf is still painful, your advice will be appreciated, for a stubborn 58yr old bloke! Many Thanks

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your husband looking to the history given here I could say that your husband is in need of MRI test to rule out the possibility of any serious injury, the chances of hematoma is very likely and this need to be ruled out, hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
