Any Suggestions For Hcg Level Higher Than 6000,cramps, Menstrual Bleeding After Scurgery For Ectopic Pregnancy?
Hi my sister had hcg levels at 6000. In early December her OB suggested she had an ectopic pregnancy and schedule her for surgery. The doctor couldn't not find a pregnancy in the tubes... but says he found something in the uterus and removed it as he didn't think it was viable. This occurred on Dec 2. all of December she felt fine. On January 2nd, she stared what she thought was her menstrual cycle. She has not stopped bleeding since, it has been heavy at times, has had cramps and clots. Today her doctor says her levels are higher than before he did the procedure and doesn't know what the problem is. She is worried and doesn't know what to do. What is your suggestion. Mine was for her to go to the ER.
Hi Hcg levels indicate pregnancy whether in tubes or in the uterus. If the pregnancy is in the uterus and she is bleeding she needs to go the ER. If the pregnancy is in the tubes ,which might have not been visible during in the initial surgery she again needs to go to the ER as soon as possible. She might get an ultrasound there to see what's going on. So please go to ER. Thanks
