Applied D K Gel, Quadredrum For Fungal Infection In Groin. Itching, Redness, Spreading Patch. How To Get Rid Of It?
HI, for the last Two Years I am suffering from fungal infection . I have taken lot s of Medicine & it feel relax when started to taken medicine and once it stops again it starts & I have applied creams like D K Gel, Quadredrum etc. My itching at the groins is not lessening. It looks reddish round spot and spreading day by day. I have taken lots of medicine and but no effect. Kindly help why it has occurred and how to get rid of it. Please advise

Hello,
To treat your chronic fungal infection you must do the following...
Avoid using steroid creams
Use plain anti fungal cream like clotrimazole regularly for 4 weeks.
Dry your groin after the bath and use cotton underwears.
Don't share your towels.
Must treat fungal infection of feet,if having it.
Try to give some air to it by keeping the part open and sitting in front of a fan for sometime every day.
The most important is to take oral antifungal medications like TERBINAFIN,ITRACONAZOLE TC for few weeks.Consult a dermatologist for the prescription of them.

It would be best to use Clotrimazole cream locally .oral antifungals like Fluconazole/itraconazole may also be used,antibiotics may be needed if secondary infection is there.Keep the area dry,avoid synthetic undergarments,use the antifungal drugs for 3 weeks after the symptoms go down to prevent recurrence.Rule out diabetes or other causes of lowered immunity.Antifungal talc may help in preventing wetness.
