Are 1cm Dilation, Irregular Contractions And Vaginal Pain Signs Of Oncoming Labor?
I m 37wks+0days and as of yesterday I was dilated 1cm and I have been having irregular contractions for the past week or so. I went walking today for two hours and had pain in my buttocks and my vagina also my lower back. I m still having lower back pains and hips. Im having more BH now that i went walking. I was wondering if I could be pretty close or what? This is my second pregnancy, with my first I was induced at 38wks+6days. Any information will be great appreciated.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood your concern. In view of your past history of labor at 38 weeks+ and also this being your second pregnancy, it is possible that you could have entered prelabor. Your symptoms and signs are suggestive of this. The pain in the hips can also occur as a result of joint laxity. I would suggest an examination by your consultant to determine if there is any descent of the presenting part and also if there is any enhanced cervical dilatation. There is no reason to worry even if you deliver now since your pregnancy has reached term and the baby would be fine. Take rest preferably in left lateral position and monitor signs of labor and fetal movements. Wish you safe motherhood.
