Aphasia can be a consequences of alzheimer's disease but there are other common disease which can lead to this. Minor stroke, brain tumors or dementia can also lead to aphasia.

You need a full evaluation through Computed Tomographic Scan if there is any area of brain damage. Again there are many types of aphasia which need to be evaluated by a neurologist.

If you want to know more then provide me with these information:
1. Any co-existing disease (ie hypertension, diabetes, vuscular disease.)
2. Any medication.
3. Any other symptoms except aphasia.
4. General condition of the patient.

I understand your concern.
Alzheimer's disease is a chronic neurodegenerative disease that usually starts slowly and worsens over time.
The most common early symptom is difficulty in remembering recent events (short-term memory loss).
As the disease advances, symptoms can include problems with language, disorientation, mood swings, loss of motivation, not managing self care and behavioural issues.
Since your sister doesn't have symptoms related to memory loss, it might not be Alzheimer's disease.
Other symptom of aphasia could be due to some other cause which needs to be evaluated.
Kindly consult Neurologist for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
