Brief Answer:
Weight loss may improve your blood pressure values, but can not treat hypertension.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM.
Being diagnosed with primary hypertension, means that it doesn't have a known secondary cause of it. Obesity or overweight is not the cause of your hypertension, and your hypertension can not disappear with loss of weight.
But, weight loss can improve your blood pressure values.
On the other hand, if you loose weight, you put away obesity and overweight as another risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, despite your hypertension for which you should take medications.
So, I encourage you to loose weight through a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
Continue taking antihypertensive drugs, in way to have well controlled blood pressure values.
You should not smoke.

Hope this is helpful.
