Are Blood Shots In Eyes, Normal During Fever?

My son has been sick for two days. He had a fever of 102 this morning. I gave him Motrin and the fever has gone down. On the inside corner of each of his eyes are bloodshot. I am wondering if it is due to his fever? And will it go away when he gets healthy?

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

Blood shot eyes during fever is because of reactive conjunctivsl hyperemia and will resolve once the fever subsides.
Sometimes there can be associated eye infection and this will resolve to use of antibiotic eye drops.

Thank you
