Are Breathing Difficulty And Chest Pain Symptoms Of COPD Or A Heart Disease?
Hi I just recently went to Methadone to quit lorcet and gabapentin. I was hospitalized for a week because my oxygen dropped low. I was treated as I had Pneumonia. I decided to come down off the methadone slowly and I m down to 35mg. After being released I ve been diagnosed for having anxiety attacks. Everytime I go to the dr. I m told my oxygen is good. I ve came to notice the past few days however if I go a while without smoking I feel better. If I just take a couple draws off my cigarette then I feel like somethings in my throat making it difficult to breathe. I also been having chest pain. Could it be COPD or heart problems? Are Breathing Difficulty And Chest Pain Symptoms Of COPD Or A Heart Disease?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. It s difficult to decide whether it s a cardiac problem or respiratory problems based on this history Smoking lead cardiac failure as well as copd. COPD seems most likely here for that spirometry and x ray chest done For rule out cardiac problem EKG should be done Avoid anxiety by yoga, meditation etc as anxiety can lead dyspnea by panic attack Feel free to ask further if needed Hope this will help you Consult pulmonologoist for examination
