Are Contraceptives Causing A Painful Bump On My Abdomen?
I'm 24 years old, 1 meter 71 cm and 70 kilos... I gave birth three years ago and a year after that I've been diagnosed with endometriosis. I had a surgery and it was removed seven months ago, since then I've been taking contraceptive pills. Few days ago I've noticed a bump right below the surface (6cm approx) on my abdomen, just below my C-section... It's painful and it looks like it keeps getting bigger. What does it mean? Am I immune to the pills I'm taking? What should I expect?
Swelling or bump below the C section scar could be due to a pus collection or intestinal herniation through the scar. It should be examined directly for further management. If it is a pus collection, it has to be drained. If it is herniation we have to repair it surgically. Because it has its own complications. Do not worry about anything. Kindly take a gynecologist consultation. For now, take some pain killers for management. If the swelling subsides while lying down, it could be herniation. If there is redness, edema or pus like fluid then it is a pus collection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
