Are Delayed Periods And Abdominal Cramps Symptoms Of Pregnancy?
I had unprotected sex on the 6th, 7th and 8th of January and I took postinor 2 after that and was to see my period on the 28th of January. But i spotted blood on my pants on 15th of January and it lasted for 3 days like my normal period but up still now, I have not seen my normal period flow which is suppose to start on the 28th to of January and am feeling cramps but no feeling of tenderness on my breast. Could I be pregnant?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You have not mentioned when you have taken emergency contraceptive pill. Because increasing gap between the unprotected intercourse and the intake of emergency contraceptive the chances of pregnancy will increase. If you take the emergency contraceptive pill within 12 hours of unprotected intercourse you can expect around 95% of the protection where as it will decrease to 75% if you take the tablet after 48 hours. And after taking emergency contraceptive pill you can expect withdrawal bleeding at around 1 week so the spotting you have seen on 15th could be withdrawal bleeding due to the emergency contraceptive pill. As you have got withdrawal bleeding due to the pill you may not get your normal menstrual period this month. If you still have doubt regarding pregnancy please go for Urine Pregnancy Test 3 weeks after last unprotected intercourse.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
