Are Green Stools, With Banana Intake Normal In Infants?

my baby tried a banana for her first time today. she's 4 1/2 months. now her poop is green and she is very gassy. should i worry that she is allergic or is this normal? she LOVED eating it. cried when i stopped feeding it to her, so she seems ready but i dont want to upset her poor tummy.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Usually upto 6 months, other than breast milk nothing is indicated according to WHO guidelines if breastfeeding.

Usually banana can cause green colour stools in infants.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
