Are Headaches, Blurred Vision And Breathlessness Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms?

girlfriend just quit drinking two weeks ago. she drank heavily everyday for about 5 years. she is 25 now. today she is complaining of a severe headache and blurred vision. and a little bit of shortness of breath. are these withdrawls or something else?

cannot say in her particular case, but can give some general information:
1) headache blurred vision and breathlessness can be very serious symptoms indeed and may indicate near stroke, elevated blood pressure, heart failure and many other unfortunate conditions.
2) alcohol withdrawal is generally done by 1 week.
3) and, alcohol withdrawal has stress hormone elevation as its hallmark. This corresponds to elevated blood pressure, pulse, irascibility, tremor and even seizures which can prove fatal.
