Are Hepatomegaly With Coarse Echotexture And Splenomegaly In A Scan A Cause For Concern?
Dear Sir, I am 46 diabetic. I was diagnosed with Jaundice. Initially Belirubin total eas 2.7 and now after 5 weeks it is 1.3. Initially When the scaning done 5 weeks back the impression was Hepatomegally with coarse echotexture with splenomegaly. How serious is this? Doctor says I am normal.
The underlying cause for jaundice at that time needs to be known to comment further. Jaundice could be due to hepatitis like inflammation of the liver or some hemolytic anemia.
So for that further investigation with CBC, USG abdomen, viral hepatitis profile testing, retic count, peripheral smear, serum LDH has to be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
