Are Inconsistent Contractions With Pain Due To False Labor?
my due date was this past sunday. as of monday, i was 0 cm dilated and 0% effaced. the baby has not dropped yet. i started having inconsistent contractions at 6 AM this morning. they have been about 5 minutes apart for the last hour, lasting about 30 seconds each. although they are painful, they have not increased in intensity. is this false labor?
Labor is defined as regular contractions that are changing your cervix. This usually requires contractions as often as 5 minutes apart, lasting one minute, and persisting. False labor are shorter contractions, variable intensity and associated with no change in your cervix if checked. What you are describing sounds more like false labor than real labor. Keep your doctor updated about what is going on as they may want you to come in to be checked.
I hope that this helps and good luck.
