Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

Yes he should meet a doctor immediately. He needs to have a hood check up.
Lightheadedness and Vertigo that you have described may be caused by any of the follows
1. hypertension
2. high sugars
3. low sugars (due to excess therapy)
4. Low bp (due to excess therapy)

So we need to make sure that his bp and sugars are well controlled.

Once this has been checked, and if there is a problem found, we will need to have his therapy checked.

And if no cause is found, we will have to look for other causes like nervous system causes, cardiac causes (like arrhythmias) etc

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.

Please do understand that some details could be extracted from a detailed history and examination.

Please feel free to ask another query. I would be glad to help you. Looking forward to your return query with the details asked so that I can help you further.

Hello,
feeling chills may mean infection. Infections can be serious in diabetic patients. You haven't mentioned any other symptoms so I could not give you a complete answer regarding the cause of his chills. Usual causes include infections of the genitourinary tract.
Did he have fever? Any other symptoms?
Aleve (naproxen) may hide the fever for a few hours and make him feel better but is not curative.
I suggest he gets examined by a doctor who will be able to decide whether he's got an infection or not and prescribe appropriate treatment for him.
His high blood pressure has nothing to do with chills. He should do something about it though because high blood pressure and diabetes lead to heart and kidney problems and stroke.
He can eliminate salt from his diet and take antihypertensive medications. I could not suggest specific medications because his medical history has to be taken into account.
If you need more specific guidance then please ask me again and I'll be glad to provide it for you!
Kind Regards!
