Hello, Thank you for asking question. I am Dr Adil. Yes, women with inflammatory bowel disease (chron's disease is also an inflammatory bowel disease) do experience irregular periods and missed periods. This problem is more common during the active phase of the disease. During remission phase some women get their normal periods back. But it is not true for all women. The exact reason is not known. But it has been suggested that, inflammatory process in the body disturbs the normal hormonal balance. and un-balanced hormonal level in the blood is a major cause of menstrual irregularities. Stick with the treatment of chron's disease. It is possible that after the surgery and after the remission of your disease you will get your normal periods back. You may discuss it with gynecologist also. I wish you well. Kind Regards. Dr Adil
