Are Nicardia & Melmet 500 Safe During Pregnancy?

I am 13 weeks pregnant and have high BP(140/90) and also diabetic. The doc has asked to take nicardia retard 10 and melmet 500. Want to know if thesse medicines are safe or not? I am 32. 55.5 Kgs,5'2". 1st pregnancy. I was diagnosed diabetic abt 3 years back and have been taking melmet 500 since then.
