Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Numbness And Soreness At The Injury Site A Concern?
Hello! I fell on my right knee about 2 weeks ago. Pretty good bruise and abrasion. I now have a scab and black and blue but the one side of my knee cap is very sore. Almost numb until it is touched. I have no problem walking/bending, but not on that knee. I iced it immediately which was smart to do as it helped with swelling A LOT. BUT, the numbing is puzzling me.
Nothing much to worry as is is quite common after trivial injury.
It will settle by itself with conservative management.
As a first line of management you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Diclofenac for pain relief.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
