Are Pain In The Left Hip And Difficulty In Walking Side Effects Of Taking Losartan?

after starting earlier this year on Losartan- I have been having pain in my left hip bad enough to affect my walking. I never had a problem while on HCTZ. any connection to Losartan side effects?- eating very healthy: no sugar, grains/simple carbs or dairy

Hi,

Bradykinin increase is known to reduce pain threshold , a group of medicines called ACEI s may exacerbate or make a person more aware of the pain. Losartan does not belong to that group but to ARBs which hardly raise the Bradykinin levels.

It is less likely that Losartan is the cause of your hip pain. If it is persistent, it would be good to see a doctor, either a physicist or orthopedician and have yourself examined, investigated and treated well. Do get back to me if you have further queries.
