Are Possible Tumor Lesions In The Bile Duct A Cause For Concern?
liver is normal in size (9.6 cm) with moderately coarse parenchyymal echotexture. Intrahepatic biliary tree is not dilated. portal and hepatic veins are not dilated. no focal lesion seen . [everything other is normal. i have history of hepatitis B virus]. what will be interpretation of the statement above?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Fatty infiltration and fibrosis give a coarse echotexture of the liver parenchyma. However, in your case, since the liver is of normal size with no dilatation of intrahepatic biliary tree, portal and hepatic veins, there is nothing much to worry about it at this stage. Since you have positive history of Hepatitis B, regular follow-up is necessary and kindly get it done as recommended by your doctor. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
