Are Recurring Flu And Cold Due To Infection From Abortion?

Hi sir, My wife have a medical abortion before 4 month . Its takes 6 weeks to clear all the tissues. We have done Ultrasonogrphy ,doctor said ok. then after some days she gets her period also. but during abortion and after also she suffer from cold and flu frequently. is their any infection due to the abortion or any other problem.

Hallow Dear,

I gather from your history that she was bleeding for six weeks after medical abortion after which her abortion was complete. Completeness of abortion was confirmed by ultrasonography. Now she is having fever with chills.

Since it took six weeks to complete the abortion, the chances of infection should be kept in mind. If she is having foul smelling discharge along with, she definitely has uterine infection and would need a course of antibiotics. However, if there is no foul smelling vaginal discharge, it is not any infection related to the abortion. It is likely to be common cold and fever which may treated with paracetamol.

Your Gynaecologist after vaginal examination can tell you whether it is any infection related to abortion process or not.
