Are Red Itchy Bumps On The Body A Side Effect Of Prednisone?

I went to the doctor for an allergic reaction . I was given prednisone and I have been taking it for 4days and tomorrow is the last day to take it . I break out in red itchy bumps when I m sitting in my room in front of an ac unit. I have cleaned my room completely washing everything more than once and then with just water to make sure. I don t know why I continue to break out while taking my medicine.

Hello,

Prednisone does not cause allergic eruption and the lesion you are explaining may be an infected boil or infection of a previously erupted lesion. As of now you can apply topical antibiotics like Mupirocin for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
