My father recently had Q fever and in the aftermath was given Minax. He has experienced symptoms which may be due to side effects of this drug, including a skin rash and disturbed sleep with hallucinatory type dreams, and extreme anxiousness, depression with increased fears for his mental health. A few days ago he began taking something called Lexotan. When I tried having a conversation with him by phone yesterday he had robotic, rambling type slurred speech. The day before during a visit by guests with my sister present he began to fall asleep at the table and she witnessed an even further deterioration after they left. This medication has been prescribed by a doctor against the advice of another doctor who advised non medication strategies. Yet neither doctor is addressing what the Mendax may be doing, along with at times very low salt recordings. I am at odds to what to do especially as some family members, one in particular who has a lot of influence over my father and it seems the doctor is pushing for my father take take tranquillisers or antidepressant drugs without dealing with what are the real issues. My father has also driven his car this morning. Are you able to suggest what I can do?
