Are Swollen Legs And Feet Related To Itchiness All Over?
Hi. I have had very swollen legs and feet the past couple of days. Also, I have been itchy all over. Are these two related? I know it sounds strange but this is very unusual for me. I take verapamil 120mg and norvasc10, daily for htn. I originally got the verapamil for cluster headaches but they said the added benefit was that it would help bp also. I also take 50mcg of levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. I get lortab 10/35 for cluster headaches and migraines. I don t take them all the time. Also, I take conidine, 1/4 tablet of .2 mg only if emergency when my bp is extremely high.

Swelling of legs and itching can be related if the swelling is due to venous stasis and stasis eczema( varicose veins), contact dermatitis, hypothyroidism or severe anaemia.
However there are several causes of leg swelling especially in a hypertensive. They have to ruled out after assessing the type of swelling, presence of inflammation, cardiac and renal status. These may have no relation to your generalised itching. If you have started any medication recently, that could also contribute to the generalized itching.
