Are Swollen Lymph Nodes Related With STD Infection?
I am a heterosexual male and had an unprotected sexual encounter approximately 2 weeks ago and have noticed what seems to be a swollen lymph node behind my left ear...I am very worried and sit nervously through the day wondering if it could be related to an STD. I have scheduled STD testing for a week from today to give myself ample time for a accurate reading but what are the odds that this is related to an STD?
Thank you for query. Lymph node behind ear is not due to HIV .it may be due to local infection in ear or scalp.the hiv odds are nil as within 2 weeks most unlikely.you can check for STDs with your doctor. Get HIV RNA pcr at this stage to rule out HIV .you can get back for clarification. Dr Bharatesh Basti
